The Black Career Fair at UBC Vancouver is an initiative led by the Mastercard Foundation Scholars Program at UBCV in collaboration with the Beyond Tomorrow Scholars Program, the Black Student Space, and the UBC Career Centre. In developing this pilot program, we also consulted with the coordinator of the Indigenous Career Fair and received valuable insights informed by their experience planning that event.
This pilot program is designed to connect upper-year Black undergraduate and graduate students with prospective employers and organizations that are committed to fostering inclusive, respectful, and culturally supportive workplaces. While the fair is tailored to support students further along in their academic journey, first and second-year students are also welcome to attend, explore, and begin building their networks early.
