Tamara comes from the Maru-a-Pula (MaP) school in Botswana, where she completed her secondary education with the support of the renowned Allan Gray Orbis scholarship. She has exhibited great leadership in school and community initiatives including the MaP recycling team’s efforts to promote a healthier campus, and the “Eduvolunteers” team to tutor students in government-assisted secondary schools. Tamara has given back to her school as a Teacher’s Aide in the Science department and has been commended for her maturity, sincerity and reliability. She believes that “Africa needs innovative and pro-active ‘change-agents’ to overcome its challenges” and seeks to study Public Health to contribute to her country.
