    Elshaday is a software engineer and software project manager known for his passion for tackling new challenges. Raised in Bekoji, Ethiopia, a town renowned for producing world-famous Ethiopian athletes, he embodies a winning mentality and a strong work ethic. He holds a Bachelor of Science degree in Computer Science from Addis Ababa University with very great distinction, demonstrating academic excellence and dedication. Colleagues describe him as a motivating leader who simplifies complex concepts and remains humble.

    Despite financial shortages, Elshaday co-founded Phinder Technologies PLC, addressing community challenges through digital health products. Phinder Technologies provides internship opportunities, bridging education with real-world application, reflecting his commitment to positive community impact. On his notable project, the Centralized Pharmacy Management System, he led conceptualization, development, and implementation of the project, ensuring equitable access to vital medications.

    During his time at Cooperative Bank of Oromia, one of Ethiopia’s largest private banks, Elshaday contributed to developing innovative financial products as a software engineer at the bank’s innovation hub, leveraging his skills to drive technological advancements in banking solutions.

    His goal is to address problems in Ethiopia and Africa through data-driven digital products. He believes that pursuing a Master’s degree in Data Science at UBC will equip him with the tools to realize his vision. He is eager to join Vancouver’s vibrant tech community, collaborate with new colleagues, and implement innovative solutions.
