Kwaghdoo (Sussan) is a graduate of the University of Agriculture, Makurdi (UAM) in Nigeria with a Bachelor of Forestry Degree in Wildlife and Range Management. Throughout her time at UAM, she was actively engaged in action oriented activities to inspire young people to participate in environmental protection. She attended the 22nd Session of the Conference of Parties (COP 22) to the United Nations Framework Convention on Climate Change (UNFCCC) in Marrakech Morocco. Sussan cares very deeply about the issues of forest management and the worsening conditions of climate change in Nigeria. She is passionate about development work, particularly with regards to the environment, and is translating her knowledge and energy for environmental conservation and improved livelihoods to serve her community. She recently volunteered with ATO-ClimatEducate Project Philippines as the African Project Regional Manager, Women Environmental Program, Abuja, Team54 Project International as the Project’s Acting Coordinator for Nigeria, Mediatrix Development Foundation Calabar and Devtrain CEDI.
Sussan’s ultimate goal is to become a professor in Forestry and to create a Non- Governmental Foundation that will be actively committed to training the staff of the National Park Services and Game Reserves in Nigeria, along with communities adjacent to the National Parks. She pursuing a Masters in International Forestry in order to improve her scope on International forest policies, governance and especially in the area diplomacy and negotiations engagements.
