Faculty: Science

Program: Master of Data Science

Year: 2024

Country: Ghana

I graduated from Kwame Nkrumah University of Science and Technology with first-class honours in Petroleum Engineering, where I demonstrated unwavering dedication and hard work towards my academic objectives. Complementing my academic achievements, my active involvement in community service and mentorship programs highlights my commitment to societal development.

A notable milestone of my journey is my participation in the PyClubs Mentorship Program, where I guided aspiring Python developers through a 4-week initiative by the Python Software Community, Ghana. This experience shows my dedication to sharing knowledge and supporting future tech enthusiasts in Ghana.

My passion lies in utilizing data science and machine learning to address critical issues like climate change. Specifically, I am focused on carbon capture, utilization, and storage (CCUS) to reduce carbon emissions, aligning with the UN climate goals and my vision of contributing to a sustainable future. As a petroleum engineering graduate, I understand the importance of having environmentally conscious engineers in the industry to drive the integration of advanced technologies into the energy sector. By creating innovative solutions, we can significantly lower per-capita carbon emissions in Africa.

The Master of Data Science program at UBC, with its interdisciplinary approach and practical focus, offers the ideal platform to develop my skills and knowledge. I am eager to engage in a collaborative environment at UBC, building relationships with leaders in the field and like-minded peers. This program is a pivotal step in my journey to make a tangible impact through data-driven solutions.
