Oluwafemi is a resilient and determined individual whose journey exemplifies grit, independence, and an enduring commitment to societal impact. As the youngest of four siblings, he grew up challenging conventional stereotypes, instead demonstrating a profound sense of responsibility and perseverance. He earned his bachelor’s degree in economics from Ahmadu Bello University with first class honours.

His passion for sustainability led him to co-found Pale Blue Dot Initiative (PaBDI) in November 2020 as volunteer-oriented not-for-profit to raise awareness about climate education among young Nigerians. He was also a local chapter leader for the Foundation for Climate Restoration (F4CR) from 2022 to 2023.

Oluwafemi envisions a future where Africa leverages its rich natural resources for sustainable development through sound policy and innovative practices. Pursuing a Master of Food and Resource Economics (MFRE) at the University of British Columbia through the Mastercard scholarship is a vital step in achieving this vision. The program’s unique blend of applied economics, agribusiness, public policy, and data analysis provides the technical and analytical tools necessary for his career in policy advocacy and consulting.

Excited to join UBC’s diverse academic community, Oluwafemi looks forward to engaging with cutting-edge research and collaborating with renowned faculty. With a proven track record of excellence, Oluwafemi is committed to driving impactful change in Nigeria and Africa.
