She recently graduated as the University Overall Best Graduating student at the Federal University of Agriculture Abeokuta, Nigeria, where she obtained her Bachelor degree in Nutrition and Dietetics. She has grown to become a Food Science and Nutrition enthusiast, who is passionate about her academics and is constantly driven by the desire to improve herself with every given opportunity. Tobi has a great background in Nutrition, and has been fortunate to gain a deeper knowledge of Dietetics via her undergraduate internship program and during her mandatory National Youth Service Program (NYSC) at the Mother and Child Hospital, Akure, Nigeria. She has also been heavenly involved in numerous volunteering experiences and recently launched her initiative, TOL Initiative, which aims to reach out to those in the rural communities and sensitizing them to the importance of nutrition on their health.
Tobi hopes to one day pursue and obtain her PhD in Food and Nutrition and ultimately become a Professor of Food Science and Nutrition. Her long-term career aspirations include: contributing to the development and implementation of nutrition policies, finding solutions to tackle food insecurity, improve access to healthy foods, and work with organizations that take part in the dissemination of safe foods and nutrition-related information in order to fight against malnutrition in her community. She is excited to network and learn with great minds, learn about diverse cultures, and most importantly, learn from the outstanding staff at the UBC.
