Khalid Abdilahi is a Software Engineer who has extensive experience in designing large-scale systems in big-data automation. His friends and colleagues regard him as someone who is passionate about software development, algorithmic thinking, and teaching others. Khalid graduated from Universiti Tenaga Nasional (UNITEN) in Malaysia with a First-Class Honours in Computer Science. Khalid co-founded a modern job posting platform Jobslope to solve the employment issues in Somalia, which had more than six thousand daily subscribers. He is passionate about mentoring young technology enthusiasts in his home country and was providing online programming classes and mentorship to students in various local universities.
He is excited to study in the Master of Data Science program at UBC and looking forward to meeting people who are passionate about data science and machine learning. Khalid believes studying at UBC will be an exciting new experience for him academically, professionally, and personally.
