As a passionate and versatile individual, I have always strived for excellence in every endeavor I pursue. My love for the environment and sustainable development has been a driving force in my academic and professional journey.
During my undergraduate studies in Geography at the University of Education, Winneba (UEW), I actively participated in environmental initiatives that aimed to make a positive impact on my community. I planted trees on Green Ghana Day and hosted a Sustainable Development Goal program on Radio Windybay, the on-campus radio station. Through this program, my team and I successfully reduced plastic pollution on campus and raised awareness about the SDGs among students and community members.
Currently, I am leading a “Turning Waste to Wealth” initiative in Nkawkaw, empowering individuals to create value from waste products. My passion for environmental sustainability and management has led me to pursue a Master of Geomatics for Environmental Management at the University of British Columbia (UBC).
I am excited to join the UBC community and leverage my skills and knowledge to influence policy changes, contribute to research, and champion environmental protection and sustainable development in Africa. I look forward to connecting with fellow scholars, learning from their experiences, and sharing ideas to address pressing environmental issues in Africa and beyond. I am eager to experience Vancouver’s culture, make new friends, and contribute to a common development cause for Africa. I believe that our collective efforts can make a significant difference in building green and sustainable cities that are resilient to climate change. I am confident that my program at UBC will equip me with the necessary skills and knowledge to achieve my goals and make a positive impact in my community and beyond.
