Retsepile Sello

By maya zwang on July 5, 2017

Retsepile won a competitive scholarship to study at Waterford Kamhlaba United World College of Southern Africa in Swaziland.  She has a great passion for community service, and has been actively involved in initiatives to support the people around her, including the Community Entrepreneurship Development Club, where she offered one-on-one support with a community member in order to establish a successful market.  Retsepile is interested in studying Mining Engineering at UBC, as improving environmental outcomes of mining processes is one of her greatest values.  She hopes to one day start her own company in Lesotho, where she can contribute to her country’s economy and improve the current standards of living.  She is also committed to creating volunteering opportunities for youth in her local community, as she believes there is nothing more rewarding.  Retsepile is pursuing a Bachelor of Applied Science at UBC.
