Isaac is a MasterCard Foundation Scholar pursuing a Master’s Degree in Food and Resource Economics at the University of British Columbia. He holds bachelor of Science Honors degree in Economics from the University of Zimbabwe. Before coming to UBC, Isaac worked for Youth Career Development Zimbabwe as Programs Manager where he worked with disadvantaged youth through career guidance and development. Isaac is also deeply involved with the African Youth Movement, a pan-Africanist action-oriented, social movement that strives for the development, active participation and leadership of African youth in the fight for social justice. As the facilitator for the Employment and Entrepreneurship Committee, Isaac is involved in coming up with practical solutions through dialogue and active consultation with youth across Africa. He hopes to engage key policy makers in Africa and beyond over employment and entrepreneurship. As a Global Youth Ambassador for Education for A World At school, a United Nations Education Global initiative, he is a passionate advocate for universal access to education. A World At School’s target is to ensure access to education for the more than 57 million young people currently without. He was also recently nominated as a Humanitarian Ambassador for Youth for Humanity where he is deeply involved in championing for education rights for children in Pakistan and other Asian countries.
