Alfred is a graduate of the Kwame Nkrumah University of Science and Technology (KNUST). Growing up in one of the remote villages of Ghana, he experienced first-hand the effects of resource degradation and the need to conserve natural forest and water resources. This experience influenced Alfred to undertake an undergraduate degree in Forest Resource Technology with a specialization in Land Reclamation and Rehabilitation at a time when most students in Ghana were not interested in forestry. He has professional experience from the AngloGold Ashanti Mine and Forest Service Division, Ghana. Alfred has volunteered for five years as a youth leader and a peer counselor at KNUST. He also served as a Public Relation Officer of the counseling group, judicial committee member and the General Co-coordinator of a campus fellowship during his schools at KNUST. Alfred is co- founder of the Land Reclamation and Environmental Conservation Society which focuses on coordinating the linkage in academia, industry and community to solve complex environmental challenges in Ghana. He has now completed a Masters of Land & Water Systems at the University of British Columbia, Alfred’s career goal is to join the professoriate rank in academia and to be an environmental advocate where he can impart his knowledge and train others to achieve effective environmental management in Ghana.
